Walk for Hope 2026

Join people on the cancer journey, cancer survivors and their families and friends on Sept 19, 2026, at AD Penner Park in Steinbach, for the annual Southeast Cancer Support Services (SCSS) Walk for Hope fundraising event. This community event kicks off at 9 am with a community breakfast and includes a full afternoon of children's activities, live entertainment on the Superior Projects main stage, food trucks and more!

Register a Team Today! - Start a team, set a fundraising goal and invite your friends, family, sports team, youth group, coworkers or anyone you'd like to spend a day with to join your team! Registration is just $20 (no cost for children and survivors.)

Honour Balloons

Honour a loved one by placing their name on an Honour Balloon, to be displayed along the walking path. This can be in memory of a loved one you have lost, in honour of a survivor or to celebrate a special caregiver, health care provider or volunteer who made a meaningful impact on your journey.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS

Are you available to help? SCSS currently has the following volunteer needs:

Volunteer Drivers - assist cancer patients with rides to treatments - drivers are currently needed for the Steinbach and Hanover areas.
Walk for Hope Children's Activities - volunteers are needed to assist with children's activities at Walk for Hope on Sept 19th. This could include face painting, monitoring bouncy castles and games, etc.

Upcoming Events

Find us this Saturday, July 25th at the Country Classic Heritage Car Show! The show runs from 11 am - 4 pm at the Mennonite Heritage Village and you'll find us set up near the steam engine, selling 50/50 tickets on behalf of the Country Classics Car Club.

Taste of Summer

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 12 and join us for a delicious lunch in the sun! Bring your family, friends, and co-workers — grab lunch for a minimum $2 donation (or more if you can!) Every dollar counts! On August 12, all proceeds support Southeast Cancer Support Services, helping local families facing cancer. 💛 Come hungry and make a difference! See you there!
