Walk for Hope Sept 20

Join people on the cancer journey, cancer survivors and their families and friends on Sept 20, 2025, at AD Penner Park in Steinbach, for Southeast Cancer Support Services (SCSS) first Walk for Hope fundraising event.

9:00 AM – Starting Line Community Breakfast (by donation)
10:30 AM – Survivors Lap with RCMP Honour Guard and Bagpiper
5:00 PM – Awards, BBQ and Raffle Draw, Closing Remarks

Join us for a family friendly afternoon with kids activities, musicians, food trucks, prizes and more!

Why We Walk!

We will walk together in solidarity to encourage hope, promote awareness, and celebrate the many stories of courage and resilience.

This walk recognizes that each person diagnosed with cancer does not walk alone – they have a community to support them, every step of the way.

Walk for Hope is a Southeast Manitoba event, providing support and encouragement for families and individuals in 88 communities across Southeast Manitoba!

We want to honor those who have made this journey or are still on this journey! Register as a survivor and join us for a Community Breakfast from 9-10 am (free for survivors) and an honourary Survivors Lap with RCMP Honour Guard and Bagpipes at 10:30 am to kick off our day! There is not cost for survivor registration.

Register a Team or Participant

Walk for Hope is a team-based event, but individual walkers are welcome. Teams register with a kilometre goal in mind and take turns walking, or walk together, along the path to reach their goal. You can walk in honour of a family member or for the fun of meeting a challenge alone or with friends!

Honour Balloons

Honour a loved one by placing their name on an Honour Balloon, to be displayed along the walking path. This can be in memory of a loved one you have lost, in honour of a survivor or to celebrate a special caregiver, health care providor or volunteer who made a meaningful impact on your journey.

Minimum $10 donation (tax receipts for donations of $20 or more).

Volunteers Needed!

Are you available to help? We are in need of volunteers to help set up the day before the event as well as the day of. Areas where we need volunteers include breakfast set up, serving breakfast, selling raffle tickets, stage tech, honour ballons stations, auction volunteer, children’s activities, lunch volunteers, greeters, grounds/logistics, restrooms, face painting, tattoo artists and after event clean up.
