Becoming A Point of Hope for Others

My reason for becoming a volunteer driver for SCSS was my cancer journey with my Mom.

The number of appointments and treatments was almost overwhelming. Every second Friday, my Mom and I would sit down to look at her cancer schedule. Then my siblings and I would see what we could arrange with work and I called, texted and emailed the people my Mom wanted to drive her. Usually, by Sunday, everything was locked down and all was arranged.

We were very blessed by an amazing family, church family, and community that stepped up and drove for free. My Mom and I had such incredible talks during those drives.

I want to support others who are going through the cancer journey and make it easier for them. I want to be an ear to listen, a heart of prayer, and a shoulder to lean on. – Wanda Woelke, Volunteer Driver for SCSS
