Hope…For All! Cancer Pledge Campaign begins!

Southeast Cancer Support Services is launching their Hope…For All Cancer Pledge Campaign during Breast Cancer Awareness month. SCSS is a community based, not-for-profit charitable organization providing transportation, resources, support education and hope for cancer patients and families in 88 communities throughout the southeastern region of Manitoba.

“The concept of this charity was ignited in February 2024 by an enthusiastic volunteer committee”, says executive director, Cindi Rempel Patrick, “we are extremely grateful for the seven community Founding Partners who stepped up immediately to ensure we establish strong roots to open our doors: Golden West, Country Meat & Deli, Bethesda Foundation, Linda Penner, Friesen Drillers, Clearview Co-op and In Memory of Reg & Darrel Penner families. All donations are unique in that all funds raised here will go directly to cancer patients from across our region – right into the pockets of those who need this additional support.”

To ensure sustainability, SCSS has committed to conducting a five-year pledge campaign, and raising $400,000 in pledges by year end. These donations will support Phase one which provides transportation to treatments and appointments, assistance with other incidentals, headcoverings, lymphedema treatments and so on. Southeast Cancer Support Services are asking for one time donations or pledging an amount for up to the next 5 years.

Your gift may be: Individual, Family or a Corporate donation, In Memory/Honor of, In Lieu of Flowers, Workplace/Payroll Contributions, Weddings, Birthdays, or participate as an Event Sponsor for any of our upcoming community fundraisers. Any amount over $20 is tax receiptable.

All donors will be recognized on our public donor forums at gifting levels from Friends, with a $20 gift, to Platinum, with a $25,000 contribution. And it’s easy! All the details are on our website. You can make your donation directly online, visit our office with cheque, cash or card, or send by mail.

The Office is Open for Business! Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays – 10 am to 3 pm
